OCM Commits to Strong Partnership with Newly Appointed Youth and Sports Leadership

Kuala lumpur: The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) has welcomed the appointment of new Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari and Mordi Bimol as his deputy following today's Cabinet reshuffle. The OCM voiced its intention to forge a strong and collaborative partnership with the new ministerial leadership to further strengthen the national sports ecosystem.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the OCM emphasized that this partnership will be instrumental in advancing high-performance sport, athlete development, good governance, and sustaining Malaysia's success and presence on the international sporting stage. The council expressed its commitment to these goals in a statement released today.

Meanwhile, OCM president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria extended his heartfelt congratulations to Mohammed Taufiq and Mordi on their appointments. He expressed enthusiasm about working closely with both leaders to drive the national sports agenda forward, strengthen athlete pathways, and further enhance the Olympic Movement in Malaysia.

At the same time, Mohamad Norza recorded his appreciation to the outgoing minister and deputy minister, Hannah Yeoh and Adam Adli Abdul Halim, for their service during their tenures. He acknowledged their commitment and the close collaborative working relationship they maintained with the OCM since assuming office in 2022.

Mohamad Norza specifically highlighted the steadfast support provided by Hannah for the Olympic House project, noting it as an important milestone for the Olympic Movement in Malaysia. The OCM remains truly grateful for the contributions made by the former leadership.
