Nurul Izzah Urges Sabahans to Continue Supporting PH for Development Momentum

N23 petagas: It is hoped the people of Sabah would continue to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its allies an opportunity to form a state government in the 17th state election to ensure that more of the development promised to them previously can be fulfilled. PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar emphasized the achievements made in the past three years under PH’s governance at the federal level.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nurul Izzah highlighted that PH has completed nine items in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), increased interim funding for Sabah, and implemented various development projects such as schools to enhance the well-being of the state’s residents. She stressed the importance of continuing this momentum, urging voters to allow PH and its allies to execute the next phase of development projects.

Nurul Izzah shared these insights during a ceramah at Tengah Padang Petagas Voting District Centre (PDM), which was attended by Sabah PKR leadership council chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud and PH candidate from PKR, Datuk Awang Husaini Sahari. She expressed hope that, despite the plethora of information on social media, Sabahans would evaluate PH’s accomplishments based on their track record.

She remarked, “Only Sabahans can choose their future for the next five years. To me, this matter is serious, regardless of whatever campaign we do because in the end we have to choose for ourselves.” Nurul Izzah also mentioned that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim desires to offer continued development, emphasizing the need for continuity rather than starting anew.

The 17th Sabah election, involving 73 state seats, is scheduled for Nov 29, with early voting on Nov 25. Among the candidates contesting in N23 Petagas are Aslin Samat (PIS), Sabreezani Sabdin Ghani (Anak Negeri), Dr. Mohd Afifi Shaiffuddin (PN-PAS), Lee Nyuk Soon @ Jason Lee (UPKO), Patrick @ Peter Manius (Independent), Datuk Awang Husaini Sahari (PH-PKR), Datuk Awang Ahmad Sah (Independent), Adelaide Cornelius (KDM), Annita Shiela F.Among (STAR), and Datuk Uda Sulai (Warisan). In 2020, Datuk Awang Ahmad Sah, representing Warisan Plus-Warisan, won with a majority of 261 votes.
