Nurul Izzah and Saifuddin Nasution’s Appointment Expected to Strengthen PKR’s Position in Elections

Kuala Lumpur: The appointment of PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar and Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail as joint election directors is anticipated to provide PKR with a significant advantage in the forthcoming elections. PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil emphasized that both leaders bring valuable experience and strategic expertise, having previously undertaken similar roles.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi highlighted the strategic strengths each leader contributes, stating, “Both have carried out this responsibility before, and in the current context, their appointment gives PKR an advantage, as each leader brings unique strengths that are well-suited for the task.” He further noted that this development is a positive move for PKR, Pakatan Harapan, and the Unity Government. Fahmi shared these insights with reporters during the Kita MADANI Carnival at IWK Eco Park, Lembah Pantai, in the presence of Information Department director-general Julina Johan.

Fahmi, who also serves as the Communications Minister, disclosed in a recent statement that the appointments of Nurul Izzah and Saifuddin Nasution were finalized during the PKR Political Bureau and Central Leadership Council meeting. Additionally, the meeting confirmed the reappointment of Fahmi as PKR information chief, while Datuk Dr. Fuziah Salleh and William Leong retained their positions as secretary-general and treasurer-general, respectively.
