Northern States To Be Awakened By Roar Of RMAF Jets Conducting Training For LIMA’25

Alor Setar: The airspace in the north of the peninsula will be awakened by the roar of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) aircraft, which will conduct flight training in conjunction with the Langkawi International Air and Maritime Exhibition 2025 (LIMA’25).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the RMAF announced that the flight exercise would involve fighter jets, carriers, and helicopters in two phases. Phase 1 will take place from May 6 to 13 in the airspace of Alor Setar, Kedah, and Butterworth, Penang, while Phase 2 is scheduled from May 14 to 19, 2025, in the airspace of Langkawi, Kedah.

The RMAF stated that the exercise aims to strengthen the readiness and efficiency of the RMAF crew in preparation for the opening and air show for LIMA’25, scheduled from May 20 to 24. During the exercise, RMAF aircraft will conduct low-level tactical flights in certain areas, and the exercise will also involve a series of explosions for the opening gimmick of LIMA’25.

The RMAF has informed the public not to be anxious or worried if they see RMAF aircraft flying low and hear explosions during the training period. Themed “Today’s Progress, Future Achievements,” LIMA’25, which will take place in Langkawi, remains one of the largest exhibitions in the maritime and aerospace industry in Southeast Asia since it was first organised in 1991.
