No Water Contamination Found in Perak Petrol Stations, Further Analysis Underway

Ipoh:Initial inspections by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Perak have revealed no signs of water contamination in RON95 petrol storage tanks at six petrol stations located in Ipoh, Taiping, and Kuala Kangsar.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail stated that these findings are based on preliminary checks using manual dipping and cross-referencing with the Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) system. However, he emphasized that these preliminary findings are not final, as fuel samples have been sent to the Chemistry Department for detailed scientific analysis.

KPDN has yet to draw any conclusions regarding the contamination allegations until the official analysis results are available and the investigation is fully completed. The ministry intends to review the laboratory analysis results and the overall investigation findings before determining any further action. Kamalludin assured that if any violations of laws enforced by KPDN are confirmed, decisive action will be taken against those responsible.

The inspections were initiated following public complaints and viral social media posts claiming that RON95 petrol was contaminated with water, leading to vehicle damage. Enforcement teams undertook several inspection measures, including manual dipping of fuel storage tanks, cross-checking with the ATG system, and collecting RON95 petrol samples for official analysis. Additionally, KPDN collected and examined fuel supply receipts, sales transaction documents, and other relevant information from the petrol station operators covering the concerned period.
