KUALA LUMPUR: The Defense Ministry has taken a firm stance against any form of abuse, including bullying and ragging, in military learning institutions under its jurisdiction. This announcement comes amid allegations of misconduct within these facilities.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin stated that any allegations of abuse would be thoroughly investigated and treated with the utmost seriousness. He emphasized that individuals found guilty would face strict disciplinary measures. The minister’s comments were in response to claims made by a Member of Parliament regarding incidents of bullying and ragging that purportedly endangered the lives of students at a military learning institution in the capital.
The MP brought the issue to light via a Facebook post on January 3, detailing an alleged bullying incident involving several students. The post also highlighted challenges faced by the students’ parents in bringing the situation to public attention. The MP urged authorities to conduct an immediate investigation to address these concerns.
