KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Football Association (SAFA) has never engaged in any negotiations with any party regarding the sale of Sabah FC shares, said its president Datuk Shahelmey Yahya today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a statement, Shahelmey clarified that SAFA has also never met with any individual or representative claiming to have received an ‘offer’ to purchase shares of Sabah FC, as has been circulating on social media recently. Shahelmey, who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III, denied that SAFA had informed Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor regarding the alleged sale of Sabah FC shares.
He emphasized that SAFA has never met with any individual or representative of any party claiming to have an offer to purchase Sabah FC. This statement was issued to clarify SAFA and Sabah FC’s position to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding regarding the allegation.
Shahelmey was responding to a post on Facebook under an account named DSAT, which claimed to have been ‘offered’ the opportunity
to take over Sabah FC.
