Raub: Bukit Kayu Hitam Police carried out a process to neutralise a piece of luggage suspected of containing explosives after it was left unattended at Block B of the Immigration/Customs inspection area at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex in Bukit Kayu Hitam last night.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kubang Pasu police chief Supt Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahim stated that the pink luggage was discovered at approximately 5.55 pm when no one came forward to claim it. The luggage was subsequently taken for scanning, during which Customs personnel identified images that suggested the possible presence of suspected drugs and explosive materials.

The Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) from the Kedah Police Headquarters arrived at the scene at 8.45 pm to neutralise the luggage after assessing the risks surrounding the building, with priority given to the safety of lives. The ICQS Complex was also closed from 9.30 pm to 11.30 pm to facilitate the neutralisation process by the UPB.

The luggage was opened at 11 pm, revealing that no explosive materials were present. Further inspection found only clothes, oil in a container, a black hairdryer, shampoo, and lotion.
