Ampang: The death of an elderly woman whose body was discovered at her home on Jalan Pandan Indah, Ampang, last Friday has been confirmed to involve no criminal elements, said Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Mohd Azam Ismail. The case has been classified as a sudden death report based on the findings of a post-mortem examination.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the post-mortem was performed at Kuala Lumpur Hospital yesterday evening. The results confirmed that the woman’s death did not involve any criminal activity. The police chief released a statement early this morning regarding the findings.
ACP Mohd Azam Ismail also mentioned that the police were alerted to the situation after receiving a report from a member of the public. The report detailed a foul smell emanating from a two-storey terrace house in Pandan Indah around 6.30 pm last Friday.
Previous media reports indicated that a resident had detected a strong odour coming from the elderly woman’s house since last Monday. It was understood that the woman had only recently returned home after spending the Aidiladha holiday in her hometown.
