REMBAU: A 19-day-old infant has succumbed to injuries while his nine-month-old sister remains in a coma following a vehicular accident that occurred early this morning at Kilometre 3.8 Jalan Kampung Batu-Inas, near Rembau. The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 7:50 a.m. when the family’s vehicle veered off the road.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rembau district deputy police chief DSP Azmi Ali confirmed that the infant, Muhammad Aryan Qhalish Muhammad Adzril, who was a front-seat passenger, passed away seven hours after the crash at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital. The cause of death was identified as brain hemorrhage. His sister, Putri Eshal, who was seated in the back of the vehicle, is also suffering from brain bleeding and is currently in a coma, receiving treatment at the same medical facility.
Investigations revealed that their 39-year-old mother was driving with her five children, including Muhammad Aryan and Putri Eshal, along with a pair of 10-year-old twins and their eldest sister, aged 11, from Jalan Inas to Kampung Batu Rembau. The mother reportedly lost control of the car, which skidded off to the right shoulder of the road at a corner and slope.
The mother sustained injuries to her left shoulder, while all the injured children were immediately transported to Rembau Hospital for urgent medical attention. DSP Azmi Ali stated that the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with reckless and dangerous driving resulting in death.
