Nine New Health Facilities Announced in Malaysia’s 2027 Budget

Kuala Lumpur:Nine new health facilities will be constructed, and RM1.2 billion has been earmarked under Budget 2027 for the maintenance and upgrading of current hospital and health clinic infrastructure.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that the allocation will also focus on upgrading dilapidated clinics.

The new facilities include a Specialist Clinic Complex and Day Care Centre at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor, a Dental Specialist Centre in Kuching, Sarawak, and Integrated Health Complexes in Gerik, Perak, and Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

To expedite diagnosis and treatment, over RM770 million has been allocated for acquiring advanced and modern equipment. This funding will also cover the upgrading of haemodialysis facilities at hospitals across the nation and the procurement of 400 new ambulances to enhance emergency response capabilities.

Further plans include equipping Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Specialist Hospital with robotic surgery technology to broaden treatment options for patients in the East Coast and northern regions of Peninsular Malaysia.

Additionally, eighteen Health Ministry training institutes will be provided with clinical simulation equipment and basic science laboratory facilities, aiming to enhance the skills of over 20,000 trainees, medical personnel, and paramedics.
