Nga Calls On Malaysians To Reject Racial Provocation, Religious Extremism

Kuala lumpur: Malaysians must reject all forms of racial provocation and not be easily influenced by racially charged slander or religious extremism deliberately propagated by irresponsible parties, said Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post tonight, Nga emphasized that the MADANI Government is committed to preserving the unity and harmony of the community and would not compromise with anyone attempting to disrupt public order through slander, incitement, or racist remarks. Nga urged the public not to be swayed by provocations from extremist groups with hidden agendas and to allow authorities to conduct investigations and take necessary legal actions.

Nga addressed these concerns while speaking at the Housing and Local Government Minister's Ramadan Iftar Ceremony with media representatives at Kaw Kaw Malaya restaurant, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. The event was attended by several prominent media figures, including Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, Star Media Group chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng Sek Yee, Sinar Harian Group editor-in-chief Zamri Rambli, and acting Astro AWANI editor-in-chief Zaiful Mohd Ariffin.

During the event, Nga underscored the essential role of the media in disseminating accurate and responsible information to the public. He highlighted the Iftar ceremony as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the ministry and media practitioners and to remind everyone of their shared responsibility to uphold the nation's harmony, unity, and peace.

Furthermore, Nga called upon all Malaysians to unite under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in facing economic and political challenges stemming from the ongoing crisis in West Asia. He stressed the need for national stability and peace to navigate these challenges and emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit of unity for the future of the nation.
