Osaka: Kura Sushi Inc., headquartered in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, has announced the opening of its largest-ever restaurant at the Future Life Zone of the Osaka-Kansai Expo on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The restaurant is designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kura Sushi Osaka Kansai Expo Store will boast 338 seats, making it the largest in the chain’s history. It will feature the longest revolving sushi belt, stretching approximately 135 meters. The exterior design is characterized by namako walls and a large image of tuna nigiri under the ‘Antibacterial Sushi Cover Mr. Freshness,’ which helps protect the sushi from dust and viruses. Inside, the restaurant will have a modern Japanese aesthetic, featuring wood-grained tables, tatami-style seating, and a bold graphic of a giant plate on the ceiling.
