New Road Link to Alleviate Congestion on PLUS Highway Senawang-KL

Kuala lumpur: An alternative road to alleviate congestion on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) from Senawang to Kuala Lumpur is set to be constructed next year, announced Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun. The Federal Government has approved the project, which involves linking the PLUS Highway with the Nilai-Labu-Enstek (NLE) route. The 18-kilometre stretch is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by July 2026.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin mentioned that a new PLUS road and toll plaza will be developed, with construction commencing next year. The Federal Government will fund the project, though specific management details remain under discussion. The new route aims to reduce traffic congestion from Senawang to Kuala Lumpur or towards the north, which currently experiences heavy congestion. This initiative is part of an immediate traffic dispersal plan.

Aminuddin, who also serves as the Port Dickson Member of Parliament, stated that the state government is fully prepared for the monsoon season. Measures are in place to ensure sufficient supplies in the event of flooding, and the state government is collaborating with local companies to secure adequate food supplies for potential disasters. Several hotspot areas have been identified, and precautionary measures are being taken in anticipation of floods due to abnormal rainfall patterns and unpredictable weather conditions.

In a related update, Aminuddin reported a decline in influenza cases in Negeri Sembilan, with no cases recorded in week 44 this year, compared to 27 cases the previous week.
