Port dickson: The construction of a new road connecting Lukut to Kampung Sirusa via Kampung Paya and Kampung Bagan Pinang in Port Dickson has reached 60.57 percent physical progress, 43 days ahead of the original schedule. The Works Ministry (KKR) stated that the RM81.92 million project is scheduled for completion on August 10, 2027, aiming to improve the road network in Port Dickson by enhancing accessibility, strengthening connectivity between settlements, and supporting socio-economic development in the district.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the development project involves the construction of a 10-kilometer road in accordance with Public Works Department (JKR) R2 specifications, covering slope works, drainage systems, sewerage infrastructure, structures, utilities, and other related supporting works. "The implementation of this project is expected to provide significant benefits to local residents through safer and more comfortable routes, shorter travel times, smoother traffic flow, and improved connectivity between settlements and economic activity centers," said KKR in a statement issued after a visit by Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Maslan to the project site.
The visit was held to inspect the progress of construction works, ensuring that construction works are carried out according to the stipulated schedule, specifications, and standards while addressing site issues to facilitate completion within the contract period. KKR mentioned that the project would also serve as a catalyst for local economic growth by boosting trade, tourism, job opportunities, and attracting further investment and new developments in the surrounding areas.
The project, under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, was approved through the Federal Government's development allocation, with the State JKR as the implementing agency.
