New Kelantan ACTVX Campus To Nurture Skilled Local Workforce

Kelantan: The opening of the new TeknoVocasX Academy (ACTVX) campus in Kelantan is expected to help retain young talent in the state by expanding access to quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes while creating more employment opportunities locally.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kelantan ACTVX Project director Dr Ahmad Zaharuddin Sani Ahmad Sabri said the campus, which will welcome its first intake in October, was established to bring industry-based technical education closer to students in the state. He said the approach would enable students to pursue further studies without having to leave the state, while providing them with opportunities to build their careers in Kelantan and meet the growing demand for skilled workers.

"As we all know, many Kelantan youths pursue their studies and careers outside the state. So, why should they go elsewhere when we can provide quality educational infrastructure and opportunities here in the state?," he told reporters after the launch of Kelantan ACTVX here today. He said the campus in Pengkalan Chepa would initially offer Automotive Technology and Electrical Technology programmes.

According to him, students at the institution would undergo a nine-month study programme, receive an allowance throughout their training period and be offered employment opportunities through strategic partnerships with industry players upon completion. Ahmad Zaharuddin said the campus could accommodate up to 1,000 students, with its programmes fully recognised by the Skills Development Department and graduates eligible to receive the Malaysian Skills Certificate.

He said ACTVX Kelantan would also introduce elective subjects developed in collaboration with the Yayasan Islam Kelantan to address the needs of the local community, while strengthening efforts to produce a competent workforce in support of the state's economic development and the national TVET agenda.
