Venice: Plans for a new city stadium – to be used for football, Serie A rugby, and other events such as concerts – have been unveiled and presented to the Municipality of Venice.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Maffeis Engineering and Populous, the world-leading sports architecture and design practice firm in the field of sports and entertainment, have been commissioned for the design and engineering work. The consortium of companies composed of Costruzioni Bordignon, Fincantieri Infrastrutture, and Ranzato Impianti was awarded the contract for the project in March 2024.

The new stadium, with a capacity of 18,500 seats, is expected to become a key venue for major sporting and entertainment events in the region, providing a modern facility for both local residents and visiting fans. The project aims to enhance the city’s infrastructure and offer a versatile space for various events, contributing to the cultural and economic development of Venice.
