Selangor: Netherlands-based Neways Electronics has opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Selangor, reaffirming its growth strategy and positioning the company to meet growing regional demand while enhancing its global manufacturing footprint.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a joint statement, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Invest Selangor, and Neways said Malaysia’s unique position in the heart of Asia and its prominence in the semiconductor manufacturing sector make it an ideal location for the Dutch company to establish its new manufacturing facility.

The launch was officiated by Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Liew Chin Tong, alongside Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Malaysia, Eva Oskam. Liew stated that Neways’ investment was a strong vote of confidence in Malaysia’s position as a leading destination for advanced electronics and semiconductor-related industries.

MIDA chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Arham Abdul Rahman emphasized that Neways’ investment strengthens Malaysia’s position in high-tech, high-reliability electronics manufacturing segments that support critical industries such as medical, industrial automation, and automotive. He noted that the facility opens new doors for local vendors to participate in global value chains.

According to the statement, the Neways facility, which has commenced production, aims to support substantial growth with plans to expand its workforce to over 200 employees. The company intends to scale up operations, increase volume, and broaden its customer portfolio, underscoring its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its customers and enhancing operational efficiency.
