Negeri Sembilan Secures Substantial Investments from China and India

Kuala lumpur: The Negeri Sembilan government has successfully attracted significant investments from China and India, totaling RM2.71 billion and RM22.81 million, respectively, between 2020 and June 2025, as reported by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, State Industrial and Non-Muslim Affairs Action Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong highlighted that the investments from China are linked to 18 projects, generating 1,115 job opportunities, while investments from India are associated with two projects for the same period. Teo elaborated on the state’s proactive engagement strategies, noting that the Negeri Sembilan MIDA office actively collaborates with investment agencies through domestic and foreign investment promotions, seminars, and roundtable discussions aimed at courting potential investors.

During a session at the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly, Teo responded to a query from P Gunasekaren (PH-Seremban Jaya) regarding the state’s success in attracting industrial investments. He emphasized the strategic focus on industrial development in the eastern regions of Negeri Sembilan, including Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol, and Tampin, aligning with the government’s plans to prioritize agriculture-based industries.

Teo further mentioned the presence of an organic fertilizer production factory in Jempol, nearing completion with an investment value of nearly RM100 million, strategically located near an oil palm plantation to enhance production efficiency. Additionally, he pointed out the state’s largest investment project, the F and N Dairy Farm, valued at RM1.8 billion, underscoring the government’s dedication to fostering high-impact industries.

He concluded by affirming that the ongoing development initiatives are progressing as planned, significantly contributing to the local economy and reinforcing the industrial sector in the eastern part of the state.
