These investments hold the potential to create 14,953 job opportunities.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, domestic investments constitute RM24.2 billion, or 58 percent, while foreign investments make up RM17.3 billion, or 42 percent. The manufacturing sector is the largest contributor, with RM22 billion in investments, or 53 percent. The services sector follows with RM19.5 billion, or 46.9 percent, and the primary sector with RM670,000, or 0.1 percent.
MITI provided this information in response to Cha Kee Chin's (PH-Rasah) inquiry about Negeri Sembilan's approved domestic and foreign investments from 2023 to 2026, including investment values, job opportunities, and measures to benefit residents in the Rasah constituency.
The federal government, in collaboration with MIDA, the Negeri Sembilan state government, and other agencies, is implementing an integrated approach to ensure these investments contribute to economic growth and benefit the local populace. Strategies include creating employment opportunities through new projects, expansion, and diversification, especially in the manufacturing and services sectors.
The government encourages companies to prioritize hiring and developing the local workforce to meet their skills requirements. Additionally, collaboration between industries and educational institutions aims to align local workforce skills with industry needs.
Efforts are further supported by vendor development, business matching, and supply chain programs, enhancing local companies' participation, including SMEs, as suppliers to investing firms. The government also urges investors to seek local support services in logistics, mechanical maintenance, and construction, ensuring SMEs' involvement in the investment value chain.
To enhance the value of investments, the government emphasizes projects involving technology, automation, digitalization, research and development, and high-skilled jobs. This approach aims to not only increase job quantity but also offer better career prospects and income opportunities for the local population.
