Negeri Sembilan Prioritizes Infrastructure and Water Security in Budget 2027

Seremban:Negeri Sembilan Strengthening critical infrastructure, boosting water security, and enhancing disaster preparedness are among the key priorities for Negeri Sembilan's submission to the Federal Government for consideration in Budget 2027.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim highlighted that these priorities also include improving access to education and quality healthcare, while fortifying food security to enhance the well-being of the state's residents.

Ismail emphasized the strategic importance of these projects in driving economic growth, improving the quality of life, and ensuring balanced development across Negeri Sembilan. For the transport sector, he noted that developing the road network is crucial for better connectivity and efficient movement of people and goods, providing direct access to industrial, logistics, and new growth hubs.

The state seeks Federal Government support to provide infrastructure that will foster economic growth and investment, while enhancing residents' quality of life. Ismail stated the state government's readiness to collaborate with the Federal Government and various ministries to ensure the effective implementation and evaluation of development projects for public benefit.

He further detailed infrastructure needs by district, with Seremban and Port Dickson requiring improvements due to rapid population growth and increased demand in housing and industrial sectors. In Rembau, the focus is on expanding water supply and health facilities, while Jempol aims to strengthen the rural economy and food security to ensure inclusive development.

These proposals align with Negeri Sembilan's long-term development plan for 2026-2035, emphasizing economic and social growth, sustainability, and inclusivity. Budget 2027 is set to be tabled in Parliament on October 9.
