Negeri sembilan: The Negeri Sembilan Road Transport Department (JPJ) issued 3,062 notices after inspecting 14,150 vehicles in a special Aidiladha operation held from May 24 until yesterday. State JPJ director Jasyindar Singh Sihdu highlighted that 1,673 of the vehicles inspected were taken action against for various offences under the Road Transport Act 1987.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the highest number of offences recorded was 1,055 involving major violations. These included overtaking on double lines, using mobile phones while driving, failing to obey red traffic lights, not wearing seatbelts, and queue-cutting. Additionally, there were 686 vehicle licensing offences, 562 other offences, 406 technical offences, 317 driver licensing offences, and 36 goods-related offences.
A total of 73 vehicles were seized for various offences, with 71 seized under the Road Transport Act 1987 and two under the Land Public Transport Act 2010. Furthermore, 77 notices were issued to bus drivers for violating regulations, while 29 notices were issued to passengers for failing to comply with rear seatbelt requirements.
