Kelantan: Nearly 1,300 people from five parliamentary constituencies in Kelantan received assistance through the One-Off Aid Programme of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The Prime Minister’s political secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, announced that the five constituencies are Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Rantau Panjang, Kota Bharu, and Tumpat.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, for the second phase of the programme, the aid will be expanded to nine other constituencies and is expected to be implemented this year. Azman emphasized the Prime Minister’s commitment to connecting with the people of Kelantan through his representatives, acknowledging that while Anwar Ibrahim cannot meet everyone directly, he has designated representatives to engage with the communities.
Azman detailed that the aid recipients, each receiving RM200, were selected by local community leaders. The beneficiaries include the disabled, low-income earners, and asnaf group. Earlier, 226 individuals from the Kota Bharu constituency received financial aid.
Recipient Farhana Alias, 37, from Kampung Pauh Sembilan, expressed her gratitude to Anwar for the assistance. She noted that the aid significantly alleviates her family’s financial burden, as she earns a modest income as a salesperson. Her husband, Mohd Adnan Mohd Sadi, 40, works in the village, and they have three children.
