Kepala Batas:Three 18-year-old youths have embarked on the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 Series 4/2026, demonstrating eagerness to build resilience, learn discipline, and push their limits despite facing personal challenges and temporary career interruptions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Joel Graceson Jebarajan, one of the participants, traveled alone from Ipoh to Alor Setar to join the program. He is the youngest of three siblings and decided to attend despite his father's stroke in April, which required his brother to stay home and care for their father.
Joel expressed happiness about joining PLKN, viewing the journey as part of the challenge. He looked forward to learning discipline and improving his patriotic spirit and mutual respect. Previously employed at a supermarket, Joel arrived at the registration center at 7 am, eager not to miss the opportunity to participate.
Mohd Alif Aiman Ramli from Pokok Sena also joined the program, driven by his interest in the military. Surprised to receive the offer letter, he saw it as a chance to gain new knowledge and grow in self-discipline. Despite having to prepare quickly due to his temporary job, he plans to further his studies after completing PLKN.
Lim Kim Hui from Penang initially felt anxious upon receiving the offer letter, but he was reassured by positive feedback from past participants. He is excited to learn basic military skills and engage in physical activities to enhance his fitness during the training.
The PLKN 3.0 Series 4/2026 runs until November 16, aiming to instill discipline, patriotism, unity, and positive character among trainees. A total of 2,009 trainees have confirmed their attendance, with training occurring in eight camps nationwide, including military camps and public training institutes.
