National Level 2025 Labour Day Celebration Scheduled at Axiata Arena: Steven Sim

Kuala Lumpur: The 2025 National Workers’ Day celebration is set to take place at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on May 1, as announced by Human Resources Minister Steven Sim. Sim highlighted that the event, themed ‘Pekerja Kesuma Bangsa’, aims to attract 10,000 visitors and will be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the pre-launch for the 2025 Labour Day Celebration was held today, revealing that the programme will commence on April 28. It will feature a Labour Day carnival with various events, including a career carnival, job fair, and skills training. Speaking at the Ministry of Human Resources’ (KESUMA) Monthly Assembly and the Pre-Launch event, Sim mentioned that the Mega Career Carnival is expected to draw significant attention by offering 10,000 job opportunities in both the private sector and government-linked companies (GLCs), along with discounts on Royal Malaysian Police summonses of up to 50 percent.

Sim invited the public to visit Axiata Arena starting April 28 to partake in the Labour Day celebration. He hinted at potential important announcements during the event, suggesting that the Prime Minister and he might unveil new policies and programmes.

In a statement, KESUMA announced the upcoming launch of the MYFutureJobs application, coinciding with the National Level Labour Day 2025 celebration. The mobile application is designed to enhance the digitalisation of the country’s labour system, offering job seekers efficient job matching, instant job opportunity notifications, and a user-friendly interface.

The launch of the MYFutureJobs application is described as a strategic step towards fostering an inclusive and sustainable digital job ecosystem, aligning with the aspirations of MADANI Malaysia.
