Putrajaya: Eager to witness the 69th National Day celebration up close, members of the public began gathering at Dataran Putrajaya as early as yesterday evening, with some camping overnight to secure prime viewing spots along the parade route.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mock Wei Qi, 23, and his friends, driven by their passion for photography and cinematography, arrived at the venue at 11 pm the previous night. Their mission was to find the perfect spot to capture creative and cinematic footage that highlights Malaysia's unique features. Mock expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are looking for the best spots to capture creative and cinematic views. We want to show the world how special our country is." As a freelance photographer, he saw this celebration as an ideal opportunity to test his skills while capturing memorable moments through his lens.

Meanwhile, a married couple, who preferred to be known only as As and Adib, arrived at the venue with their children as early as 5 pm the previous day. Their early arrival was a strategic move to secure a better view, having experienced the disappointment of watching from afar last year due to a late arrival. Adib shared, "Last year, we arrived late and ended up quite far from the main area. This time, we decided to come early to get a spot closer to the celebration and enjoy a better view."

For Ahmad Azri Onn, 55, the event turned into a fun 'camping experience' for his family. He attended with his wife and three children, aged between 10 and 15, arriving at about 5.30 pm the previous day. Ahmad Azri expressed his family's excitement at securing a good viewing spot, which allowed the children to experience the National Day celebration firsthand during their school holidays. He noted that the weather was favorable, with a light drizzle helping to alleviate the heat, making the wait comfortable for the children.

This morning, Dataran Putrajaya began filling up as eager spectators gathered to witness the 69th National Day celebration, themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati', scheduled to kick off at 8 am.
