Kuala lumpur: The National Art Gallery is once again participating in the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) with a range of interactive activities and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at strengthening Malaysia's visual arts presence on the international stage.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the National Art Gallery's Corporate Communications Unit stated that the gallery will welcome visitors at booth 403, S4, Tun Hussein Onn Hall, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) during PBAKL 2026 from May 29 to June 7.
At the booth, visitors can browse a variety of National Art Gallery publications, including visual arts books, and shop for exclusive souvenir items such as water tumblers, bucket hats, button badges, lanyard keychains, metal keychains, mugs, postcards, tote bags, and raya packets.
The statement mentioned that visitors will also have the opportunity to attend a Meet and Greet session with artists Fauzan Omar and Amron Omar on June 6, in conjunction with the promotion of the 'Treasures of the National Visual Arts Series 3' special stamp collection.
Various interactive activities are also available, including 'Doodle and Caricature Sketching', 'Knitted Wire Art', 'Pottery Wheel Experience', 'Glowing Bookmark', 'Painting with Acrylic Markers', 'Calligraphy: Dari Jari ke Hati' demonstrations, and 'Pressed Flower Keychain and Frame', conducted by local artists and art enthusiasts.
In addition, a knowledge-sharing session titled 'Lepak Kartun: Dari Sosiobudaya ke Budaya Kecerdasan Buatan (AI)' will be held at the PBAKL Main Stage on June 7, featuring panellists Dr. Muliyadi Mahamood, Zulkiflee Anwar (Zunar), and Dr. Noorhazalen Saad (Leen Mafea).
Since its first participation in 2008, the National Art Gallery has remained committed to using the PBAKL platform to expand public access to visual arts, strengthen a culture of knowledge, and introduce local art publications to a wider audience, according to the statement.
The public is invited to visit the booth to join in the activities and take the opportunity to obtain exclusive art books and souvenirs at special prices.
