Terengganu:Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) chief operating officer Nasiruddin Wan Idrus, fondly known as 'Che Din', has announced that the 2026 Le Tour de Langkawi will mark his final event with the team before retiring at the age of 60.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nasiruddin has decided to step down after a 12-year tenure to allow for new leadership within the Continental squad. He expressed his satisfaction with the significant changes brought about for both TSG and the national cycling scene during his time with the team.
Under his leadership, Nasiruddin noted that the East Coast-based TSG successfully enhanced its brand recognition across the region, establishing itself as one of Asia's leading cycling teams. The team has consistently ranked among the top three Asian teams for 11 out of its 16 years and has won the Continental world title three times.
Nasiruddin emphasized the importance of passing the baton to the next generation, though he remains open to offering his assistance if required in the future.
