Kuching: More women leaders from Borneo have been urged to join the Women’s Leadership Apprenticeship Programme (PERANTIS) this year. Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri announced that registration for the programme is expected to open on February 27.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nancy Shukri emphasized the importance of women pursuing their dreams, developing their potential, and working collaboratively to create a promising future for women in the country. She made this call during the opening of the Borneo Zone International Women’s Day Celebration.
Nancy highlighted that women’s leadership is a key focus for the ministry, with PERANTIS being one of the initiatives introduced last year. The programme aims to produce competitive women leaders by providing training and practical exposure for those aspiring to lead in various fields.
The programme offers young women the opportunity to be mentored by experienced female leaders and to build a professional network that can empower their leadership journey. Nancy shared that 100 women leaders from various professional backgrounds nationwide are expected to be selected for this year’s PERANTIS. Each participant will receive RM50,000 to implement leadership development programmes in their respective fields.
