Kuala terengganu: Mohd Nafuzi Mohd Zain is back for a second stint as head coach of Terengganu FC (TFC) for the new Malaysia League (M-League) season. Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) confirmed the appointment of the 48-year-old, who previously coached the team from 2019-2022, via a statement released today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nafuzi, the former coach of the National Under-23 squad, has signed a two-year contract effective from July 2026 to May 2028. The statement described Nafuzi's return as a homecoming, marking the return of a coach who is synonymous with TFC. During his first stint, Nafuzi led TFC to emerge as runners-up in the FA Cup and Super League in 2022, finishing behind Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) on both occasions.

His return is seen as a timely decision as TFC are currently going through a rebuilding phase with a more focused and competitive direction. Nafuzi has already begun identifying several foreign and local players, as well as members of the coaching staff, to build a strong squad. With his extensive experience in both local and international football, TFC are confident that he is the most suitable individual to lead the team.
