ALOR SETAR: Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC head coach Mohd Nafuzi Zain expressed his admiration for the dedication displayed by his players, leading to their victory against KL City FC in the Malaysia Cup at Darul Aman Stadium. Despite facing internal challenges that led to last-minute changes in the lineup, the team managed to secure a 3-2 win.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nafuzi acknowledged the significance of the victory and praised the players for their determination and spirit amidst ongoing issues within the team. He noted that the encounter with KL City was expected to be difficult given their strong reputation in the Malaysia Cup, yet KDA FC managed to perform well and achieve a crucial win.

Nafuzi admitted his initial concerns due to some players abstaining from the match, a situation tied to salary arrears affecting the team. Despite these issues, he refrained from blaming the absent players. The limited availability of players meant that only one substitution could be made, with many players dea
ling with injuries and fatigue, impacting their concentration.

He explained that during the pre-match team briefing, several players chose not to participate, leaving only 11 players and one substitute available. This circumstance added to the pre-match challenges, but the team managed to persevere. Nafuzi described the experience as a trial and a learning opportunity for him as a coach.
