Kuala lumpur: The team from the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) of Felda Linggiu, Johor, emerged as the national champion of the 2025 Tiny Techies Competition in the secondary school category, while NADI Felda Gunung Besout 1, Perak, won the primary school category.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, both teams, each represented by two students, took home RM2,000 in cash prizes and will represent Malaysia at the global robotics competition in Bangkok, Thailand, later this month. Tiny Techies programme director Areehan Abdullah highlighted that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) initiative aims to enhance technological skills, nurture creativity, and build confidence among students to compete internationally.
Students competed at various levels, starting from the NADI level, advancing through state and regional levels, and culminating at the national level. Areehan Abdullah expressed optimism during his speech at the closing ceremony of the national-level competition, noting the potential for success on the international stage. The event was also attended by MCMC member General (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Zulkifeli Mohd Zin and NADI Office head Dr Mohd Arif Adenan.
The competition, part of the NADI Smart Services initiative and the Lifelong Learning Core, featured 50 participants from primary and secondary schools nationwide. In the secondary school category, NADI Kampung Pianggu, Pahang, secured the runner-up position with a prize of RM1,500, while NADI Kampung Telaga Daing, Terengganu, claimed third place with RM1,000.
For the primary school category, the runner-up was NADI Kampung Paya Jakas, Segamat, Johor, followed by NADI Padang Tembak, Kelantan, in third place. Teams finishing fourth and fifth received RM300 and RM200, respectively, while five other NADI teams were recognized with special awards, each receiving an RM300 cash prize.
