Kuala lumpur: A state's development is not determined by political colours or slogans, but by leadership with vision, clear policies and the ability to implement projects that benefit the people. DAP Policy director and Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifesto committee member Datuk Chan Foong Hin said development does not come simply because a party wins an election, but through close cooperation between the state and federal governments.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chan emphasized that development takes place when the federal government and the state government work closely together, backed by well-planned strategies, consistent policies, and the political commitment to implement the projects that have been planned. He expressed this view in a Facebook post, highlighting the importance of collaboration over mere electoral victories.
Chan further elaborated that the election is not a contest to determine which political 'colour' is superior, but rather a choice between leaders and parties capable of delivering an implementable development plan. He expressed confidence that strategic projects, if supported by aligned state and federal governments, can be expedited for the progress of Negeri Sembilan and the well-being of its people.
Commenting on PH's manifesto for the Negeri Sembilan polls, Chan noted that it does not merely promise change but offers 10 key commitments and five high-impact projects. These were formulated based on the coalition's experience in administering the state and the Unity Government's experience in governing the country. He noted that three of the five projects are directly related to transport and logistics.
Chan stated that investors are attracted not by political rhetoric, but by tangible infrastructure such as efficient rail networks, good roads, modern ports, and government policies that inspire confidence in the business community. He highlighted that PH focuses on projects, investments, and the state's economic future, rather than making political colours the measure of development.
The Election Commission has set July 28 for early voting in the Negeri Sembilan state election, with polling scheduled for August 1.
