Linggi: The manifesto unveiled by Pakatan Harapan (PH) yesterday for the upcoming 16th Negeri Sembilan state election is more comprehensive, with its initiatives broadened to also benefit the M40 group. State PH chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the manifesto, themed 'Negeri Sembilan Kekal Harapan' (Negeri Sembilan Stays with Harapan) and outlining 10 key commitments, would enable a larger segment of the state's population to enjoy greater well-being. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin emphasized that the manifesto is designed to extend benefits beyond the previously targeted B40 group, now also including the M40 demographic. This expansion aims to provide children from M40 families with improved access to education, along with other initiatives. "This time, we are not only looking after the B40 group, but also the M40, so that these initiatives will have a more meaningful impact on a larger segment of the people of Negeri Sembilan. What matters is that the people know what we intend to deliv er for them," he stated during a community engagement programme with the Indian community at Sekang Estate in Linggi. In the upcoming polls, Aminuddin, who is also the Menteri Besar, faces a three-cornered contest for the Linggi state seat against incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Zamri Md Said of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu). As PKR vice-president and Negeri Sembilan PKR chairman, Aminuddin remarked on PH's strong track record of fulfilling promises, asserting that the coalition does not merely present manifestos to secure votes. He highlighted PH's governance experience since 2018 as evidence of their commitment to delivering welfare and development initiatives pledged to the people. "Fulfilling these responsibilities is far more challenging than merely making promises. However, we have proven before that we are capable of delivering on many of the commitments we made," he explained. Aminuddin, who also serves as the Port Dickson Member of Parliament, made an appe al for a mature election campaign, urging all parties to avoid issues that could compromise social harmony in Negeri Sembilan. The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5, with the Election Commission setting August 1 as polling day and early voting scheduled for July 28.
