N9 Polls: Communications Ministry Sec-Gen Abdul Halim Visits Media Centre

Communications ministry: Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah today spent time with media personnel at the ministry's main media centre for the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election. His hour-long visit from 12.15 pm was to inspect the facilities provided to help ensure the smooth execution of media practitioners' duties throughout the period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Halim mentioned that apart from the main media centre in Seremban, there are also 60 National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) in Negeri Sembilan that provide facilities, particularly fast and stable internet access, as well as work and rest areas for media practitioners covering the polls. "These facilities are not only for the convenience of the local community; media personnel can also utilise the centres located throughout the state during this election, including in Port Dickson and Kuala Pilah," he told Bernama when met at the media centre.

Abdul Halim stated that all NADI personnel had been instructed to provide appropriate assistance to media practitioners throughout the election period, including in cases where there were needs or matters requiring immediate action. "During the Johor state election, 110 NADI centres in the state were opened for the convenience of media practitioners covering the polls, and we are adopting the same approach in Negeri Sembilan," he added.

The Communications Ministry had previously announced that three media centres would be opened in the state to facilitate media coverage throughout the election period. The media centres will operate from July 17 to Aug 1, from 9 am to 7 pm. Polling for the state election is this Saturday.
