N.Sembilan Police Issue 682 Summons For Traffic Offences Under ‘Op Lampu Isyarat’

Negeri Sembilan: The Negeri Sembilan Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department has issued 682 summonses for various offences through ‘Op Lampu Isyarat’ implemented in all districts in the state as of today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof stated that among the total summonses, 486 were issued for violating red lights. Additionally, 196 summonses were handed out for offences such as not having a driving licence and lacking registration numbers.

The police chief further revealed that a 29-year-old man was arrested under Section 30 (3) of the Poisons Act 1952 after the discovery of three plastic bottles of ketum water under the seat of the motorcycle he was riding. This was announced during a press conference at the Negeri Sembilan Police Contingent Headquarters.

Ahmad Dzaffir explained that the operation, which is set to continue for 11 days until March 22, aims to identify road users who fail to comply with traffic regulations, particularly those who do not stop at traffic lights. Such behavior poses a risk to other road users.

He added that the operation also seeks to raise awareness by enforcing legal action against violators, with a particular focus on motorcyclists, including food or goods delivery workers who are found to run red traffic lights.
