MyPesara Carnival Highlights Retiree Welfare and AI Integration at KWAP

Kuala lumpur: The MyPesara Carnival serves as a crucial platform to enhance the welfare of retired government servants, integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology into services, and reconnect civil servants with local communities through the MADANI Adopted Village initiative.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Chief Executive Officer of the Retirement Fund (Incorporated) (KWAP), Datuk Nik Amlizan Mohamed, emphasized the significance of the three-day carnival, held for the first time in the East Coast, with Kelantan chosen due to its robust community network, which includes 10 schools under the Madani Adopted School programme and an adopted village under the Santuni Madani programme in Bachok.

She elaborated that KWAP is committed to retiree welfare through the MyPesara Tour programme, which is conducted throughout the year, involving nationwide visits to engage with retirees, including those in need. ‘During the tour, we don’t just come to visit, but we also fulfil their needs. Some need wheelchairs, walking sticks, or specific essential items. We try our best to help,’ she told Bernama after attending the Launching Ceremony of MyPesara 2025.

Nik Amlizan noted that the recreational activities organised during the event received significant participation, with more than 2,000 attendees accompanied by their families. ‘We want to remind retirees that an active life after retirement is very important, not only for the body but also for nourishing the soul and mind,’ she stated.

In a move to modernise retiree services, KWAP plans to introduce KIAH, an AI-based virtual robot proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, designed to address various questions related to pensions and retirement services. ‘KIAH stands for KWAP Is Always Here, and it is developed as a ‘digital companion’ for retirees that can answer questions such as pension payment dates, claim statuses, and service locations,’ she explained.

Nik Amlizan mentioned that KIAH is nearing the final stages of development and is slated for an official launch in January 2026, with plans for integration into the MyPesara application. ‘My aspiration is to see KIAH have dialect variations like Kelantan, Sarawak, Penang, and Kedah, but that will be developed in phases,’ she added.

When questioned about the choice of Bachok as an adopted village under the Santuni Madani programme, she attributed the selection to the family origins of officers under the Ministry of Finance, aimed at fostering connections between civil servants and the community. ‘The main purpose is so that government personnel do not forget their roots. We return to the village of origin, see the needs of the residents, and help as much as we can,’ she remarked.

She affirmed that the initiative will be further expanded to maintain strong community-civil servant relationships, ensuring long-term benefits.
