Kuala Lumpur: Halal wholesaler and retailer chain Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd aims to rake in RM3.2 billion in sales revenue for frozen products this year. Executive director Salim Mydin expressed confidence in achieving this target, citing last year’s sales revenue of RM3.03 billion as a solid foundation compared to RM3.0 billion in 2023.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the increase in sales revenue is influenced by several factors, including government-organized programs like Jualan Rahmah Keluarga Madani and products from local entrepreneurs, ranging from clothing to food. Salim emphasized that Mydin is enhancing customer convenience through platforms such as Mydin Online, Mydin Pay, Mydin Rewards, and TikTok, aligning with current trends.
Salim highlighted that Mydin has been a key player in the halal retail industry for nearly 68 years, maintaining its position despite the rise of new competitors. He noted that competition is beneficial from an economic standpoint, as it drives the company to be more
proactive in boosting sales for the country’s benefit.
Mydin currently operates 69 branches nationwide across seven business formats. The company has plans to expand by adding three more supermarket branches this year in Kulim, Kedah; Dungun, Terengganu; and Pasir Mas, Kelantan.
