Muslims Urged To Observe Proper Conduct At Mosques, Surau

Kuala lumpur: Muslims have been urged to observe proper conduct and good morals and refrain from immoral behaviour, especially in places of worship such as mosques and surau.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Senator Dr Zulkifli Hasan, emphasized that mosques and surau are sacred places that must be respected and whose sanctity must be preserved. He highlighted the importance of accountability, stating, "Remember, whatever we do is seen by Allah SWT. We cannot escape accountability, and Allah SWT will judge all our actions and wrongdoings."

Dr Zulkifli made these remarks while speaking to reporters after officiating at the closing ceremony of the Syariah Lawyers' Sports Programme (SUKPES) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). His comments came in response to inquiries about a case involving a former mosque caretaker and a married woman accused of attempting to engage in illicit sexual relations in a mosque mortuary in Melaka.

Furthermore, Dr Zulkifli noted the ongoing efforts to educate and guide individuals of all ages, from young people to senior citizens, on compliance with Islamic law and the significance of good character. These initiatives include various programmes at mosques and surau, as well as social media campaigns aimed at strengthening families.
