Muar: The bypass project linking the districts of Muar, Tangkak, and Segamat, with an estimated budget of RM183 million, is projected to be finalized by February 2027.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johor Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh stated that the project is slightly ahead of schedule, having achieved 72.19 percent completion as of March 2026. He noted that the upgrade efforts along the route, connecting Tangkak Matriculation College to the Tangkak Industrial Area, are moving forward smoothly and orderly, with no major issues affecting the overall timeline.
The project includes the construction of an 8.1-kilometre road featuring four dual carriageway lanes, six signalised intersections, and four bridges, one of which will traverse the North-South Expressway (PLUS). Additionally, the bypass will be equipped with essential facilities such as a drainage system, street lighting, and utility relocation works. Mohamad Fazli highlighted that key construction activities, including bridge building, earthworks, and road paving, are being executed concurrently.
