Shah alam: The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA), alongside Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN), organized an iftar programme for over 200 individuals from the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam community through the Sinar Lestari: Iftar Bersama Mahasiswa UiTM Shah Alam initiative.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed highlighted that the event also featured a takaful sharing session designed to educate students on the significance of takaful as a tool for financial protection and risk management. He emphasized the value of introducing young people to takaful concepts early, aiding them in planning their financial protection strategies more effectively in the future.
The event saw participation from volunteers, including takaful agents, who collaboratively prepared 1,000 food packs for distribution among the general public and students. Mohd Radzuan also mentioned that festive contributions worth RM17,000 were distributed among 200 students.
PruBSN executive council member Rahman Mansor stated that the programme's objectives extended to enhancing community bonds and contributing to society. He noted that PruBSN's efforts are not limited to UiTM but are part of a nationwide initiative under the PruBSN Prihatin programme. Through this initiative, PruBSN aims to give back to communities by providing iftar meals, engaging in food preparation, and fostering closer relationships during the Ramadan celebrations.
