Putrajaya: Malaysia always prioritises the interest of its people in the management of skilled labour within the country, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He highlighted the importance of balancing the need for international expertise in strategic fields while ensuring alignment with the country’s development needs.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasised that good coordination in managing skilled foreign workers is crucial for maintaining a smooth economy and fostering technological development. This approach, he noted, is vital for enhancing Malaysia’s global competitiveness.

He expressed optimism that through such measures, Malaysia could cultivate more high-quality local talent, reducing the nation’s long-term reliance on foreign labour. Ahmad Zahid shared these insights in a Facebook post following his chairing of a Special Expatriate Coordination Meeting in Putrajaya.
