Kuala lumpur: Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul has asked all MPs to submit their health reports by Oct 30. He emphasized the necessity of this measure to ensure that Parliament has advance information on the health status of every MP, which would enable prompt action in case of a medical emergency.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Johari highlighted the importance of having these health reports readily available. "It is important for Parliament to have these health reports because if anything happens to an MP, we will already have the necessary information," he stated. This would facilitate immediate sharing of relevant medical information with hospitals if an MP requires urgent medical attention.
Dr Johari mentioned that while MPs have the option to undergo medical examinations outside of Parliament, they are encouraged to submit their medical reports or examination documents to the doctor on duty at Parliament. This is crucial for maintaining comprehensive records of the MPs' health status.
On July 8, Dr Johari had earlier reminded MPs of the importance of regular health check-ups following an incident where a lawmaker required treatment at the National Heart Institute.
