MPL Malaysia To Charge Entry Fee To Boost Fan Experience

Kuala Lumpur: The days of free entry to watch Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia ‘live’ are over. Starting from Season 15, which kicks off on April 19, fans will be charged RM10 per entry for the tournament at Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara, here.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MOONTON Games Malaysia E-sports Lead Fikri Rizal Mahruddin explained that the decision was made to enhance the fan experience and contribute to the growth of the local esports ecosystem in the country. He stated that the move aims to elevate the experiences of fans, ensuring they are watching a professional and highly engaging esports tournament. This initiative is part of a multi-year strategy to position Malaysia as a leading esports ecosystem globally.

Fikri mentioned that they are open to exploring new avenues for MPL Malaysia and noted that the community’s response has been positive so far. He emphasized that ticket sales could play a significant role in educating fans and encouraging them to invest more in the future, including purchasing team merchandise.

Season 15 will maintain the same two-staged format, beginning with the regular season and followed by the playoffs. The regular season will feature 10 of the nation’s top Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams competing weekly from April 19 to May 25. The top six teams from the regular season will advance to the playoffs.

The top two teams from Season 15 will represent Malaysia at the E-sports World Cup x Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, scheduled for July.
