Kulim: The Kulim Urban Community Fiesta 2026 and Kulim Kedah Silver Ride 2026, hosted at Dewan Putra Kulim, served as a platform to enhance connections between local authorities, agencies, and the community.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the simultaneous events were organized to celebrate the 25th Silver Jubilee of the Kulim Kedah Municipal Council (MPKK). Datuk Elmi Yusoff, MPKK President, highlighted the significance of the Kulim Urban Community Fiesta 2026 in promoting community unity. He noted that the event facilitates public interaction, experience sharing, and the strengthening of social ties through various activities, including entertainment, entrepreneurship, sports, and culture.

The Kedah State Government Secretary, Datuk Seri Norizan Khazali, officiated the opening ceremony. Elmi emphasized that the Kulim Kedah Silver Ride 2026, a cycling event, promotes a healthy lifestyle and positions Kulim as a recreation-friendly city. He added that the program encourages community interaction and participation across all age groups, benefiting the local economy.

The programs, held from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm, garnered support from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) and featured activities such as agency exhibitions, health screenings, recycling campaigns, career carnivals, sports activities, competitions, and customer service interactions.

Elmi noted the inclusive nature of the programs, which offer the public opportunities to obtain information and engage with agencies in beneficial activities. The Kulim Kedah Silver Ride 2026 drew 220 participants, including one from Brunei, competing in categories such as Men's Open, Men's Junior Master, Men's Senior Master, Men's Veteran, Legendary Men, and Women's Open.

Elmi expressed that these initiatives portray Kulim as an active, harmonious, and progressive community city with potential for growth as a high-tech industrial hub and an environmentally sustainable town.
