Kuala Lumpur: The two deputy prime ministers and several Cabinet ministers have expressed their heartfelt appreciation for all mothers in conjunction with Mother’s Day today. In his message, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi conveyed his deepest gratitude to all the extraordinary women known as mothers, who have devoted their lives to raising their children with love and care.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi shared a personal tribute on Facebook, acknowledging the immense impact his mother has had on his life, as well as recognizing his wife and the mothers of his grandchildren for their sacrifices. He urged everyone to honor and cherish their mothers and offer prayers for those who have passed away.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof also took to Facebook, highlighting the increasing demands on mothers due to economic and technological challenges. He emphasized the noble responsibility of motherhood and the government’s support measures, such as the i-Suri special incentive and childcare facilities at workplaces, to aid mothers in their roles.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil extended Mother’s Day greetings, acknowledging the strength and unwavering sacrifice of mothers. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail highlighted the vital role of mothers in both the family and nation-building, recognizing their contributions as leaders and agents of change in society.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi expressed gratitude to all mothers, particularly his late mother, mother-in-law, and beloved wife. Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir called on the public to cherish and love their mothers, while Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek conveyed appreciation to all mothers, including teachers and guardians, under this year’s theme, ‘A Mother’s Loving Touch.’
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar acknowledged mothers as the backbone of the family and an invaluable source of inspiration. Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali described mothers as irreplaceable and expressed deep gratitude for their devotion.
Mother’s Day is celebrated worldwide on the second Sunday of May each year, serving as a reminder to honor the love and sacrifices of mothers everywhere.
