Teluk Intan: The Transport Ministry (MoT) has announced the formation of a special task force to investigate the tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel in Teluk Intan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the announcement was made by the Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, who stated that the task force will include experts and independent members. Their mission will be to thoroughly examine the incident and propose recommendations for improving safety measures.

Loke revealed this decision during a press conference following his chairing of the Cabinet Committee Meeting on Road Safety and Traffic Congestion (JK-MKKJR). He emphasized the urgency of the matter by noting that the task force will be established promptly.

The accident, which claimed the lives of nine FRU personnel from the Unit 5 base in Ipoh, occurred at 8:50 am on Jalan Chikus-Sungai Lampam. The convoy was returning from duties related to the Chitirai Pournami celebration. Eight of the victims died at the scene, while the ninth succumbed to injuries at Teluk Intan Hospital.
