Putrajaya:The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), through its Space Authority Division (BPAngkasa), has confirmed receiving preliminary reports of bright light sightings in Malaysian airspace over several areas on Wednesday night.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, these sightings are associated with the re-entry of NASA's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory satellite. However, no official reports have been made regarding the discovery of any suspected space debris in Malaysia, either on land or in its waters.
MOSTI has stated that BPAngkasa, in cooperation with relevant agencies, is actively monitoring the situation. The public has been advised against touching any suspicious objects and is urged to report them promptly to authorities, the 999 emergency line, or directly to BPAngkasa.
The ministry emphasized the importance of avoiding speculation and seeking information from official channels only.
