Kuala lumpur: The registration system for RXZ Members, which previously focused on administrative tasks such as distributing merchandise and handling lucky draw participation, is set to undergo significant changes. The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced plans to expand the registration process to include detailed participant and vehicle information for future editions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that the department has proposed a stricter registration process that will require participants to submit vital information, including driving licences and Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM). This proposal was made during an engagement session with the event organisers, aimed at improving safety and ensuring legal compliance during the programme.

During the session, the JPJ Enforcement Division emphasized the need for a more thorough registration process. Participants will now be required to provide essential documents, such as driving licences and motor vehicle licences. This initiative is designed to ensure that organisers can take responsibility for attendees at future events.

Aedy Fadly confirmed that the organisers have agreed to implement the proposed changes. They have already taken several measures to ensure participant compliance with road laws and regulations. However, some participants have still failed to adhere to the rules, which has negatively impacted the programme's reputation.

In response to these challenges, JPJ has suggested adopting a new approach through a more comprehensive registration system. This will ensure that the information collected extends beyond basic administrative details. Aedy Fadly noted that JPJ had previously warned it would withdraw support for the programme if serious incidents, especially those resulting in fatalities, continued to occur.

Earlier, Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, director of the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, reported 46 road accidents involving motorcyclists during RXZ Members 8.0, held from July 30 to August 2. The incidents included 11 fatal accidents, five serious injuries, and 30 minor injuries.
