Morales Targets Super League Top-Three Finish With TFC

Kuala lumpur: New Terengganu FC (TFC) striker Romel Morales is determined to help the Turtles return to the Super League's top three this season and secure a place in continental competition. The 28-year-old naturalised player said he was drawn to the East Coast club by its strong reputation and passionate fan base.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Morales is confident in head coach Mohd Nafuzi Zain's leadership and believes TFC have what it takes to re-establish themselves among Malaysia's top clubs and qualify for international competitions. "I've played many games against Terengganu before, so I know they're a strong and formidable opponent. I also know how passionate their supporters are, and I'm excited to experience that from the other side," Morales shared at the Gong Badak Sports Complex.

Morales, who has previously played for Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), Kuala Lumpur City FC, and Melaka United, mentioned his smooth adaptation to the slower pace of life in Terengganu. The Colombian-born forward highlighted that the calmer environment allows players to maintain focus on training and performance.

"It's good to live in a big city, but many people told me about Terengganu. It's nice to be in a quieter, more relaxed place because it helps you stay focused on what matters most - training and football. I promise I'll give 100 per cent in every match," said Morales, who has been training with the team for the past two days.

Besides Morales, TFC have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/2027 Malaysia League season, which kicks off on Aug 22, by signing four imports, another naturalised player, and three local recruits.
